The One With Another Crazy Day

Things that happened today, Wednesday 3/26:

😳 Woke up late (never a good start) and barely made it to school on time due to a mini family medical issue (don’t worry everyone is okay!!)

🙏🏻Made it to the appointment but it was a packed office - that took all morning and with no more answers.

🐶 Ella made it the whole time I was gone without having any accidents, but my bathtub is still full of blankets and my yoga mat soaking from when she 💩 in my car two nights ago, and from Pindar 🐱 rubbing his butt all throughout my apartment yesterday (yep every room).

😩But Wait! I went upstairs to talk to Kelcey later in the afternoon for not even 10 minutes and Ella apparently got up for the second time all day … when I came downstairs she had pooped and peed in my spare room and again tracked it all through the house.

🧳 We leave for what’s supposed to be an amazing trip for the weekend to see Carrie Underwood in Vegas and can’t find our suitcases since moving last summer. OH!! And I won a MEET AND GREET but apparently didn’t see the email in time to confirm my acceptance of it within 24 hours 😡

🤒 One of the two pet sitters for this weekend had to cancel due to sickness.

👩‍⚖️ My ex just threatened to take me back to court again.

😅As I was preparing the baggies of dog meals for the sitter, Pindar 🐱 knocks over the just-filled fresh bowl of water.

🤦🏼‍♀️ As I started the washer full of the towels I used to dry that up and some of the pre-soaked blankets 💩 from out of the bath-tub, ELLA THEN WALKS INTO THE WATER BOWL and knocks the rest onto the floor (she’s blind).

🚨 Now it’s 11:23pm and I have barely started packing.

🚨I did not meet my business and marketing goals this week (not even one minute of business stuff today) because I had so much trouble with uploading my pdf journals to KDP for publishing that I wasted an entire day.

🚨I started crying when I came down to find that Ella had an accident and I had to re-mop all the floors when I hadn’t even begun packing

🚨I didn’t do even my 5 minute stretch workout

I’m not writing all this to complain, but to use this day as an example of a few things:

1️⃣ We have very little control over certain parts of life every single day, and God wants to remind us of that sometimes, so we turn to Him.

2️⃣ We do have control over HOW WE REACT to those things we can’t control.

3️⃣ It’s okay to cry or scream or yell but then take a deep breath, thank God you’re alive to do so, say a few prayers and keep going.

4️⃣ Having pets can be an entire second job, especially when they are puppies, seniors, or medically compromised and need total care. PET PARENTS, I SEE YOU 🫶🏻

5️⃣ I still have time to do my 5 or 10 minute workout, and you bet I’m going to now that my floors are so clean you could eat off of them 💪🏻

6️⃣ Good thing I’m a night nurse, because the packing fun is just beginning.

P.S. This is quite honestly a typical day for me and again, I’m not at all complaining because it’s truly just another day… but it’s also a reminder that we all need to hear more often 👂 🙏🏻 👀:

WE ALL HAVE 💩 SO BE KIND & STAY HUMBLE

Also, please suport my small business efforts by commenting PIVOT for email notifications when I finally figure out all this publishing stuff 😆 🥰

The One Where Everyone Had a Choice

I’m sure I’ll get hate for this, but it’s the truth. I didn’t judge others for making their own personal choice, but they sure as heck judged ME and anyone who didn’t agree with them. I’m honestly starting to get more and more frustrated being four years out from when people had to choose between their jobs and the sh0t…. Saying that you “were forced” to get it truly isn’t accurate. We all had a choice. I’m a nurse. I’m also a single mom of two. I left my career to stand up for what I believe in. I’m not judging you for making the choice that you felt was best for you and your family based on information you had at the time… Even though many of YOU judged people like me for “not complying”. You possibly even called me a conspiracy theorist and told me that if I didn’t get it, I shouldn’t be a nurse anyway. But I AM saying that as a mental health nurse, I know the difference between holding someone down and forcing them to take an injection and giving them a choice with an ultimatum or...

The One Where it Matter How We React to Someone Else’s Comments or Actions

First, to everyone accusing me of not watching the full almost hour video before posting about my opinions, you obviously don’t know me very well. I absolutely watched it all before weighing in. This is another comment I made under my other post. Let me be clear. I am not saying I agree with with Zelensky. I am saying this was a “how are we going to react to his comments and actions” situation? There are ways to put someone firmly in their place while not risking losing the trust of other foreign countries. Putin now has an upper hand. I agree with those who have said that Zelensky was definitely trying to push his limits and see what he could get. Absolutely. I also think that we planned to stop helping them with money either way, yes. AND that he definitely needed to dial it back acting like we somehow HAVE to help or owe him something, etc. But I would have also not just ASSUMED that what he said was a threat - I would have tried to clarify some things with conversation and stil...

The One With the Corrections Officer Strike

As a former Corrections Nurse, I will not remain silent on the issue going on in New York State right now. Corrections Officers are taken for granted. They are forced to work 8 extra hours on an almost daily basis. *Imagine going in for a 16 hour overnight shift from 3pm to 7am and then at about 6:30am when you are "finally almost done" you are ordered to stay until 3pm the next day - for a total of a 24 hour shift that you hadn't planned on. *Imagine being the only person assigned to a cell block for your entire shift, sometimes without a break because you are short staffed. *Imagine knowing that the prisoners are accused but not yet convicted of murder, and you have no idea if they might have a shiv/shank in their cell/room that could be used on you at any given moment. *Imagine knowing that when the nurses come on the unit with another officer to give out medication, you then feel responsible for their lives, too and would never forgive yourself if you fail to keep th...
