The One When People Need to Mind Their Business

PSA:

Unless you talk to someone regularly or truly know them, it is rude and very disrespectful to come on their page and publicly comment something like “maybe you should take a break from social media” (This was someone I met ONCE at a concert about 10 years ago, and yes I removed the comment).

My cousin kindly texted me last night night to see if I am okay and I appreciated the thought. I then explained to her the reasons for why I posted so much in one day. And that it was very intentional and it has to do with testing the algorithm for reasons that I explained to her but it’s nobody else’s business.

Sometimes people use social media for things other than just “social” recreation and fun. When you have a goal, a dream, something you are trying to achieve it’s often very difficult and lonely to get there unless you only surround yourself with people who have already climbed the mountain.

I truly don’t post as much on here anymore, but again wanted to test the algorithm because it seems many of my posts had not been getting seen AT ALL.

Again, it’s nobody’s business but I gained 6k followers on IG in two weeks. I lost 100 yesterday because apparently many Trump followers truly ARE unforgiving and didn’t like that I posted ONE thing calling him out on being a manchild πŸ˜‚ (remember the time peoplee said their liberal friends were so shallow because they unfollowed people just for voting for Trump? Well newsflash… Trump supporters do the same crap πŸ’© ).

So what did I do? I went and got those 100 followers back (plus some) IN ONE DAY.

When you want something bad enough, you make it happen. You get it done. You find new followers when the fake followers fall off. It’s a metaphor for life.

It’s like when people left me and judged me when I was at my very worst. Those were not my people. When you find tour TRIBE they follow you ALWAYS even if you have some differing opinions. And those in your TRIBE will text you privately to check on you…Not comment their unwarranted assumptions and opinions. And this is actually all part of what I teach my patients and clients. That we need to learn how to remove negativity and identify what we control. Sometimes GOD removes those people and things FOR US for a reason.

But don’t worry, I won’t BOTHER you all who want me to take a break from posting πŸ™„ 🀣. There’s a reason I switched over to IG. Just a thought… speaking of what we can control - feel free to unfollow or “take a break” from me if you don’t want to see my feed. Im sure I’ll be fine ✌🏻

And I’ll go on now moving to the next topic that I feel inclined to discuss. Because when this is all said and done, God is leading me towards a much bigger purpose.

As I’ve said in the past, feel free to follow me over on IG, or SUPPORT my business goals by sharing my posts that resonate with you, instead of assuming I just have nothing better to do.

I think we need to get better at supporting someone, lifting them UP, instead of aasuming the worst. Building a business is not an easy process and can take YEARS.

This goes with my theme yesterday of being kind to all people: if you are on someone else’s page, perhaps practice the art of only saying something that is kind or respectful and not at all condescending or assumptive. It’s truly not that hard. As Thumper said, “If you don’t got somethin’ nice to say, dont say nothin’ at all.” This goes for me too and I’m well aware of it and working on it myself.

If you actually CARE you wouldn’t comment publicly.

P.S. I’m actually feeling the best I have overall with so much JOY from God, that I have in a VERY long time. Sometimes smiles are fake. This is the first year I can ever remember as an adult that I have not been battling S.A.D. (I guess I must be doing something right πŸ˜‰)

The One With the Corrections Officer Strike

As a former Corrections Nurse, I will not remain silent on the issue going on in New York State right now. Corrections Officers are taken for granted. They are forced to work 8 extra hours on an almost daily basis. *Imagine going in for a 16 hour overnight shift from 3pm to 7am and then at about 6:30am when you are "finally almost done" you are ordered to stay until 3pm the next day - for a total of a 24 hour shift that you hadn't planned on. *Imagine being the only person assigned to a cell block for your entire shift, sometimes without a break because you are short staffed. *Imagine knowing that the prisoners are accused but not yet convicted of murder, and you have no idea if they might have a shiv/shank in their cell/room that could be used on you at any given moment. *Imagine knowing that when the nurses come on the unit with another officer to give out medication, you then feel responsible for their lives, too and would never forgive yourself if you fail to keep th...

The One With Another Crazy Day

Things that happened today, Wednesday 3/26: 😳 Woke up late (never a good start) and barely made it to school on time due to a mini family medical issue (don’t worry everyone is okay!!) πŸ™πŸ»Made it to the appointment but it was a packed office - that took all morning and with no more answers. 🐢 Ella made it the whole time I was gone without having any accidents, but my bathtub is still full of blankets and my yoga mat soaking from when she πŸ’© in my car two nights ago, and from Pindar 🐱 rubbing his butt all throughout my apartment yesterday (yep every room). 😩But Wait! I went upstairs to talk to Kelcey later in the afternoon for not even 10 minutes and Ella apparently got up for the second time all day … when I came downstairs she had pooped and peed in my spare room and again tracked it all through the house. 🧳 We leave for what’s supposed to be an amazing trip for the weekend to see Carrie Underwood in Vegas and can’t find our suitcases since moving last summer. OH!! And I won a ...

The One Where Everyone Had a Choice

I’m sure I’ll get hate for this, but it’s the truth. I didn’t judge others for making their own personal choice, but they sure as heck judged ME and anyone who didn’t agree with them. I’m honestly starting to get more and more frustrated being four years out from when people had to choose between their jobs and the sh0t…. Saying that you “were forced” to get it truly isn’t accurate. We all had a choice. I’m a nurse. I’m also a single mom of two. I left my career to stand up for what I believe in. I’m not judging you for making the choice that you felt was best for you and your family based on information you had at the time… Even though many of YOU judged people like me for “not complying”. You possibly even called me a conspiracy theorist and told me that if I didn’t get it, I shouldn’t be a nurse anyway. But I AM saying that as a mental health nurse, I know the difference between holding someone down and forcing them to take an injection and giving them a choice with an ultimatum or...
